Rick Barker
Richard "Rick" John Barker (born October 27, 1951 in Greymouth , West Coast , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand politician of the New Zealand Labor Party (NZLP) who was a member of the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2011 and was a minister several times.

Union official and MP
Barker began studying at the University of Otago after finishing high school in Greymouth . He worked as a salesman, barman, warehouse worker, farm worker, truck driver and factory worker as well as a worker in a quarry.
