from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sukka / סוכה is a treatise from the Mishnah in the order Mo'ed (feast days, feast days) .

The treatise Sukkah deals in the broadest sense with halachoth , which are related to the feast of tabernacles, Sukkot . The first chapter deals with building a tabernacle. In particular, questions about the location, the dimensions and the building materials that can be used are clarified. Chapter II expands the range of questions regarding the activities to be performed in the tabernacle. In the third chapter the composition of the festive bouquet, consisting of lulav , myrtle twig (Hadas), willow twig (Arawa) and etrog, is discussed, and the blessings and praises to be recited are listed. This is followed by the final chapters IV and V, in which the customs of the Feast of Tabernacles at the time of the Second Temple are described.

The tract is in the 6th position in the order Moed (מועד). There is a treatise in Tosefta on Sukkah , as well as a Gemara in both Talmudim .
