Mijou Kovacs (born February 10, 1957 in Vienna ) is an Austrian - French actress .

Life

The daughter of an Austrian and a Frenchwoman grew up in Vienna and Paris. She has both nationalities. At the age of eleven, she was in an ORF production as The Little Prince in front of the camera. Bernadette Schneider is her older sister.

After school at the Lycée Français de Vienne , she completed her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. She made her debut in 1975 at the Theater in der Josefstadt in As You Like It . She remained at the Josefstadt Theater for years as a member of the ensemble. She was best known for the piece Berggasse 19 in the role of Elisabeth von Ritter at the side of Curd Jürgens as Sigmund Freud. This production was also televised. Guest performances have taken her to the Volkstheater and the Großer Konzerthaussaal . Since the 1980s, she worked on series such as Derrick , Der Alte , Ein Fall für Zwei and Tatort . In the Ringstrasse palace she had a permanent role as Hansi. Since 1998 she has also worked as a photo artist.
