Sulfoximines

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sulfoximines (sg .: sulfoximine) are a class of chemical compounds with organically bound sulfur , oxygen and nitrogen . They have the general structural formula R 1 –S (= O) (= NH) –R 2 , where R 1 and R 2 are organic radicals. The hydrogen on the imine nitrogen can be replaced by a further organic radical.

properties

Sulfoximines are hardly volatile and polar compounds; they are mostly solids at room temperature. Sulfoximines with different organic radicals are chiral and can be split into enantiomers .

Uses

Representatives from the group of sulfoximines play a role as active ingredients, for example the insecticide sulfoxaflor and the active ingredient buthionine sulfoximine .
