Sumitomo Denki Kōgyō KK ( Japanese 住友 電 気 工業 株式会社 , Sumitomo Denki Kōgyō Kabushiki kaisha , English Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. ), Sumitomo Denkō ( 住友 電工 ) for short , is a Japanese company with headquarters in Osaka .

The company is part of the Sumitomo Group . Sumitomo Denki Kōgyō has 120 subsidiaries (as of 2007). At Sumitomo Electric Industries (March 2007), employs more than 130,000 people. At Sumitomo Denso KK ( 住友電装株式会社 , Eng. Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. ) employs about 120,000 people. However, since both companies are nested within each other through a share swap (see Keiretsu ), it cannot be determined exactly how many employees the companies actually have.
