Summersound Recordings was a Swedish record label specializing in indie pop and was founded in the late 1990s by Joakim Ödlund and brothers Niklas and Johan Angergård, who were already members of the Acid House Kings at the time. Through appearances by the band they came in contact with Bengt Rahm, the head of Labrador Records . In 1999 Johan Angergård moved to Labrador Records. Since both labels combined enthusiasm for melodic indie pop with electronica sounds and twee pop , they finally merged in 2001 to form Labrador Records, which at the time was only known to a few. Bands that were previously under contract with Summersound were taken over by the newly formed label. In the meantime, Labrador has become a determining factor in the business and is managed solely by Johan Angergård.
