Corduroy Utd. was a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm .

Band history

Corduroy Utd. started in 2001 as a solo project by Gustav Ågren. At that time he took piano lessons from Helena from the indie pop band Edson and wrote songs on the side. Helena asked him to play something and was very impressed with what he had composed. The songs were soon released as a demo by Summersound Recordings , Gustav Ågren as Corduroy Utd. under contract. In order to be able to perform live, Gustav Ågren formed a band, which had its first appearances in the same year. On his debut EP Behind My Back he was decisively supported by Edson musicians: band leader Pelle Carlberg was the producer, Helena directed the orchestral arrangements and other band members were active as instrumentalists. In 2002 the EP was released and the band went on a club tour of Sweden. After several changes in the line-up, work on the debut album began in 2003. Daddy's Boy was previously released as a single and released in 2003 by Labrador Records . In 2004 the debut album Oh Eira was released , which received good reviews. Corduroy Utd. became known in Germany, where the band went on tour that same year.

In 2005 the band went back to the studio and made other recordings that have not yet been released. A few more gigs followed in Sweden before the band members turned to other music projects. An official dissolution or separation has not yet taken place.
