Summery Mind is a band from the East Westphalian town of Bad Salzuflen, which can be assigned to the genre Alternative Rock .
history
Summery Mind was founded in the summer of 2006 in Bad Salzuflen, where Larissa Rieke and Fabian Schmidt first met at the music school in Stietencron Castle and founded a band that was then still nameless. The group of people in the band was quickly expanded to include other members, including Michael-Kevin Wolf Ward. He was the one who completed the line-up and gave the band name "Summery Mind" the decisive factor.
In May 2008 the band had their first appearance at a smaller festival, where they interpreted their own songs. In 2008 the “Rockakademie OWL” named Fabian Schmidt Young Artist of the Month, after which the Eastend Studio became aware of the group and the band was able to produce a demo tape. Due to the demo tape and the collaboration with the recording studio, they quickly became known regionally and were also discovered by the radio station 1 Live , which named the band as “Newcomer of the Month January 2009”.
As a result, Summery Mind played many concerts and festivals, which increased their popularity. In 2010 I got in touch with producer Eddie Tapp, who further promoted the group and still has considerable influence on the band today.
The first own album About Dreams and Reality - financed out of pocket - was released in June 2011 in collaboration with Eddie Tapp's studio "EARS". In 2012, the band took part in the Musikclub NRW broadcast on WDR 2 and were able to advance to the second round with the song May .
The second album Belonging , now financed by crowdfunding , followed on August 1, 2014 on the Timezone label .
The townspeople first achieved international fame with the publication of the video for the single Right Now in June 2014, which is played on various music channels.
The band's third album, Color , was released in May 2019 . The first single, Blue , was released on March 8, 2019, including a music video.
