Sunčane scale

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sunčane Skale is a pop music festival in Montenegro . The festival, which has been taking place annually in Herceg Novi since 1994 , is important for the music market of the entire Western Balkans . ProMonte has been the festival sponsor for ten years.

The festival

The festival extends over three evenings. The Prinčeve nagrade ('Prince Prizes') are awarded on the first evening . The awards are given to performers and other creators in the music industry who have performed particularly well in certain categories. On the second evening the official competition with the young artists, which is named Nove zvijezde ('New Stars'), begins . On the third evening, the winner can compete with the already renowned performers for victory in the Pjesma ljeta (Song of Summer). The first three ranks receive a Sirena statue and a cash prize, which varies depending on the rank occupied. The first tier is also often associated with an advertising contract.

The festival is often criticized by music critics because the performers present their songs in full playback and not sing live like at the competing festival Pjesma Mediterana in Budva.
