Sundanese
The Sundanese are an ethnic group of about 30.9 million (2000) members in the western part of the island of Java in Indonesia .
They live mainly in the provinces of Jawa Barat (West Java), Banten , Jakarta and the western part of Jawa Timur (East Java). Most of them are Muslim . They speak Sundanese (Sundanese basa Sunda ; Indonesian bahasa Sunda ), the second most common language in Indonesia.
The Sundanese are of Austronesian origin and reached around 1000 BC. Chr. Java.
