Sundaram Finance Limited ( SFL ) is a bank and financial services provider based in Chennai ( India ). It is part of the TVS Group .
history
SFL was founded in 1954 by Madras Motor Insurance Company, which was part of the TVS Group. It was converted into a stock corporation in 1961 and has been listed on the stock exchange since 1972. The company's most important business areas include purchase and leasing financing for commercial vehicles, passenger cars and machinery, as well as insurance, securities trading and mortgage transactions.
With its eight subsidiaries, SFL forms the Sundaram Finance Group . As of March 31, 2018, SFL had 622 branches, 366 of which are located in southern India. The company was listed on the Forbes India Super 50 in 2016 .
SFL has an 11.08% stake in Wheels India .
