The Suning Commerce Group (until February 2013 Suning Appliance ) is a Chinese company with headquarters in Nanjing .
The company is in electrical appliances - retail business in China. Suning Appliance was founded in 1990. Since 2004 the company has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange . In 2013, Suning became the largest shareholder in the Chinese online video platform PPTV with a stake of 44% . In 2015, Alibaba Group acquired 19.99% stake in Suning Commerce Group for 28.3 billion yuan, making it the second largest shareholder. In return, Suning acquired newly issued shares in Alibaba Group for 14 billion yuan, which equates to 1, 1% corresponded.
