Sunlight is a song by Irish singer Nicky Byrne . With this song he represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 .
Background and publication
Nicky Byrne was selected internally by RTÉ on January 7, 2016 as the representative for Ireland at ESC 2016 . On January 13, 2016, the song Sunlight , with which he will compete, was released. A music video for the song was posted on YouTube on the same day. On February 21, 2016, the singer performed with the song at the Ukrainian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with Sunlight .
Byrne appeared in the second semi-finals with starting number 7 to qualify for the final.
