The Sunshine Glacier ( English for sunshine glacier ) is a 5 km long and 3 km wide glacier on Coronation Island in the archipelago of the Southern Orkney Islands . As the largest southern glacier on the island, it flows south to Iceberg Bay , into which it flows in the form of 60 m high ice cliffs.

The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out the naming following a survey lasting from 1948 to 1949. It was named after the fact that during the measurement the sunshine (through gaps in the clouds) only shone on the glacier, while the surroundings remained in the shade .
