Super Karamba
SuperKaramba (Super Karamba) is a computer program that enables the display of various small programs ( widgets ) and themes on the desktop background image .
The outputs of the programs are usually embedded directly in the background and do not disturb the overview of the normal programs. The use of SuperKaramba is not limited to interfaces from KDE , but certain libraries that the desktop brings with it are required. SuperKaramba has been included since KDE 3.5 , so it is an official part of the desktop. In KDE SC 4 , the new Plasma surface provides options similar to SuperKaramba in terms of desktop design. Nevertheless, SuperKaramba is being developed further. It has already been ported to KDE SC 4 and allows SuperKaramba widgets to be embedded in plasma. The further development has now been discontinued, and no new releases have been created since 2015.
functionality
Programmers and graphic artists create their own themes or text files that define the widget . Afterwards, Python scripts can optionally be added to turn the widget into an interactive program. SuperKaramba provides a small API for this.
