Great punch-out !! is a computer boxing game for Super Nintendo released in 1994 . As with the other titles, the punch-out !! Row one looks at the partially transparent protagonist from a rear view. There are three regular combat classes and a bonus class, each with four opponents to be defeated.

There is also an arcade game of the same name from Nintendo from 1985, which has also been ported to other platforms. The SNES version is also part of the series, but it is a stand-alone game. The game module contains a battery, so that records of how long opponents were defeated are saved.

Game description

Boxing takes three minutes per fight, with the computer opponent winning if he has not yet been knocked out . Most opponents can be sent straight to the mat under certain circumstances. If this does not succeed, you can win or lose the fight through a technical knock-out. In the game, a TKO is defined as emptying the opponent's hit points three times .

If the hit bar of the game figure is emptied, it has to "get up" through frequent key entries by the player. On the other hand, it can partially recover its hit points using the same method while the opponent is on the ground.

In combat, the character has the left and right straight lines, each hit low and high, and two special techniques , the rapid punch (several rapid punches) and the knockout punch (a heavy, blown blow), which can also be executed deep and high. The character can move to both sides and downwards. For every successful attack you get points on a special track; if the bar is full, the two special techniques are available. If the character is hit, the special bar is completely emptied. In addition to normal punching techniques, the opponents have characteristic special attacks that hit harder. If you surprise your opponent with a series of successful attacks, he will be confused for a few seconds and you can attack him safely. If you hit the first blow at the right moment, the opponent goes down.
