Superman vs. Muhammad Ali is a Superman special from 1978, written and drawn by Neal Adams , based on a story by Denny O'Neil .
action
Lois , Clark and Jimmy Olsen want to do an interview with Muhammad Ali , who is currently in Metropolis. Suddenly an alien appears in front of them, who reveals himself to be Rat'Lar, leader of the Scrubbs and threatens to destroy the earth, since its inhabitants represent a danger to the other intelligent beings of the galaxy. Clark disappears to appear as Superman, but Muhammad explains that this is his business. The alien says the only way to save Earth is by defeating their best warrior, Hun'Ya, in an ultimate battle. In order to decide who would do that, a preliminary battle should take place; in fairness under red sunlight. Superman is aware that he will have to compete without strength, so Muhammad decides to train him. You were granted a day; With the help of a technical device, however, Superman and Muhammad reach another dimension, in which time passes more slowly (one earth minute takes an hour here) and so they have more time to practice. The evil Council'Lar sees through this, however, and threatens them to destroy the earth, if they do not start fighting on the spot.
The fight takes place in a boxing ring on board a spaceship. Jimmy Olsen is the commentator. Both opponents fight hard with each other. This quickly shows that Muhammad is the more experienced fighter and he manages to bring Superman to the ground. Finally, he then takes on Hun'Ya, which he can actually defeat after a tough fight. Rat'Lar, however, does not want to acknowledge this victory and orders his fleet to destroy the earth. However, Superman, now recovered, destroys the fleet with his forces, which reappear without red solar energy. When Rat'Lar still refuses to give up, Hun'Ya has enough and he trips him up, whereupon he tells him that he has badly done the Scrubbs and that the Earthlings are nowhere near as dishonorable and warlike as he has always claimed. Then he shakes hands with Superman and Muhammad, as he feels honor like them.
Back on Earth, Muhammad tells Superman that he immediately identified him as Clark Kent based on a remark at the beginning. Laughing, they shake hands and realize what a good team they would be.
