Supiori (old spelling Soepiori ) is an island of the Schouten Islands and administrative district ( Indonesian Kabupaten ) in the Indonesian province of Papua . It is located in the Cenderawasih Bay west of Biak and is separated from it in the east by a narrow strait , the Teluk Surendidori , only a few meters wide .

The island is about 40 km long and an average of 25 km wide. The area is 659 km². Supiori is hilly and covered in large areas by tropical rainforest . Large parts of this jungle area are designated as a nature reserve. The highest point is 1034 m high. The soil consists mainly of coral limestone . The main towns on the island are Korido on the south coast and Yenggarbun on the north coast. To the south of Supiori are the tiny coral islands of Aruri (Insumbabi) and Rani. Before 1963, the island was part of Dutch New Guinea and belonged to the Schouten Islands sub-district, Geelvinkbaai district.
