Supreme Court of Uganda

The Supreme Court of Uganda is the highest court in Uganda . It is based in the capital, Kampala .

The court is anchored in Art. 130 of Uganda's constitution, which has been in force since 1995 . Currently, the Constitution stipulates that the Court of Justice must have at least six members in addition to its President. In contrast, an extensive constitutional reform provides that the number of judges should be determined directly by parliament. The decisions of the court, which acts exclusively as a court of appeal and not as a factual instance, are binding on the subordinate jurisdiction.
