Surju (German: Surri ) is a former Estonian rural community in Pärnu County with an area of ​​357.9 km². It was first mentioned in a document in 1544. Surju has been part of the rural municipality of Saarde since 2017 .

Surju was 24 km from Pärnu and had 1015 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2006). In addition to the main town Surju, it included the villages of Metsaääre, Jaamaküla, Lähkma, Saunametsa, Kikepera, Kalda, Ristiküla, Kõveri, Ilvese and Rabaküla. 78% of the area was covered by forests.

The partner municipality of Surju is Rusko in Finland (since 1996).
