Susan Dubois

Susan Dubois is an American violist and music teacher.

Dubois received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Southern California , where she was a student of Donald McInnes . As assistant to Karen Tuttle , she received her PhD from the Juilliard School as a Doctor of Musical Arts and won the William Schuman Prize . She teaches at the University of North Texas and the summer faculties of the Sound Encounters Festival and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival .

She was first violist in the Dallas Opera Orchestra , made her debut as a recitalist at Carnegie Hall in New York and then performed at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition in Great Britain, the USA, South America, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Korea and South Africa. Chamber music partners were Lynn Harrell , David Soyer , David Finkel , Donald Weilerstein , Menahem Pressler , Atar Arad and others.
