Susanne Bauckholt

Susanne Bauckholt (née Meyer ; born September 24, 1965 in Berlin ) is a former German sailing world champion.

Susanne Bauckholt and Katrin Adlkofer formed a sailing crew for over 15 years from her teenage years, with Bauckholt sitting and steering the tiller. During her career she won the Kieler Woche five times and the sailing world championships in 1987 and 1989 . In 1994 and 1996 she became vice world champion. In addition, she won the bronze medal at the 470 European sailing championship in 1996 . She started twice at the Olympic Games ( Seoul 1988 and Atlanta 1996 ) and finished fifth in the 470 dinghy .

After she married her husband Christian, she took his family name. In 1988 she started as Meyer at the Olympic Games, and in 1996 as Bauckholt. She became a member of the Olympic Sailing Committee after her active career and played golf at celebrity tournaments for charity.
