Susanne Kalss

Susanne Kalss (* 1966 in Sankt Martin am Grimming ) is an Austrian legal scholar . Since 2003 she has been a professor at the Institute for Corporate Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

Life

Susanne Kalss completed after the Matura one Studied law at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna , where she in 1989 with a dissertation on the environmental protection in the Austrian Forestry Law for Doctor of Law (Dr. iur.) Doctorate . She then did a postgraduate course at the European University Institute in Florence , completing her studies as a Master of Laws (LL.M.). In 1996 she received an Apart scholarship and did research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg on the subject of stock exchange law .

1999 habilitation them at the Vienna University of Economics with a work on the protection of investor interests between contract, association and market . In 2000 she was awarded the Start Prize of the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research (FWF) for a research project on corporations from a comparative legal and legal historical perspective and was appointed professor of private law at the University of Klagenfurt . In 2003 she moved back to the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she is professor at the then Institute for Civil and Corporate Law. Until 2013 she was the chairman of the department for corporate, labor and social law, in which position she was succeeded by Martin Winner. In September 2018, the Institute for Corporate Law was founded at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . Since then she has been the head of the institute and holds the chair for corporate law I.

Her main areas of work include corporate law , capital market law and corporate law .
