Mader is not inspired by immediate reality; rather, she creates geometric shapes and lines that describe abstract spaces, dimensions and states.

Her art is part of a tradition that goes back to Malevich , the Dutch De Stijl movement, and a long line of constructivist and minimalist artists. From the end of the 1990s, in particular, the works show obvious references to constructivist movements of the early twentieth century. The focus on primary colors and geometric motifs are characteristic of Bauhaus and related movements of the 1920s.

In addition to her painting work in the studio, Mader realizes public art-in-building projects. Her oeuvre includes digital graphics as well as paintings in different techniques and sculptures in different materials. Inspired by art in building projects, she began researching three-dimensional forms of expression from 2000 and later combining wall painting with sculpture.

Since 2008 Mader has also been using round plates as image carriers for her series in acrylic colors. The unusual formats convey the impression of a constant rotation of free forms and lines. Mader exhibits internationally, with participation in biennials and solo exhibitions in supraregional art halls.
