Susanne Kitschun
Susanne Kitschun (born August 12, 1968 in Hanover ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since December 1, 2006 . Since December 2011 she has been the deputy leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives.
education and profession
Kitschun graduated from high school in 1988 and studied social and economic history in Bonn and Cologne from 1989 to 1995. In 2006, Susanne Kitschun received her doctorate in political science from the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin. From 2000 to 2005 she was head of the parliamentary office of Federal Minister Ulla Schmidt . Kitschun has been the director of the memorial and exhibition site, Cemetery of the March Fallen, since 2006 . Kitschun is a board member of Gegen Vergessen - Für Demokratie eV and a member of the speakers' council of the Working Group on Places of Democracy History.

Susanne Kitschun joined the SPD in 1996. She has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since December 1, 2006. In 2011 she was re-elected with a direct mandate in the constituency of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg 4 . In 2016, Kitschun was re-elected via the district list. She is deputy parliamentary group leader and spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group for strategies against the right and monument protection. She is a member of the Council of Elders, the “Cultural Affairs” committees, the “Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Rules of Procedure, Consumer Protection, Anti-Discrimination” and the “Committee on the Protection of the Constitution”. From 2001 to 2006 Kitschun was a district councilor in Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
