Susi Peter

Susi Peter (born February 26, 1923 in Vienna ; † January 27, 1968 there ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Susi Peter learned acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar . She received her first engagement in 1939 under the direction of Gustav Bartelmus at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt , of which she was a member of the ensemble until 1941. Then she played at the city theater in Teplitz-Schönau . In 1942 Susi Peter was hired by the Deutsches Theater in Prague and then came to the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin . After World War II she was twenty years the ensemble of the popular theater in Vienna and played in the 1959 by the Vienna Festival revived Pawlatschentheatern .

The author Ruth Kerry and the actress Eva Gold were her sisters. Susi Peter was married to the director Wolf Neuber and had three children. She died after a serious illness.

Theater roles

At the beginning of her career at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Susi Peter was engaged in the role of the "naive". During her time at the Vienna Volkstheater, she often played Nestroy figures and quick-witted Viennese women.
