susning.nu |
Susning.nu was a Swedish-language wiki project. The Swedish word susning is colloquial and roughly means "to have an inkling of something". The project was started in October 2001 by Lars Aronsson, who is also the founder of " Project Runeberg ". For the first 3 years until 2004, Susning could be edited by all internet users. Since this wiki had no primary objective, a mixture of encyclopedia , dictionary and discussion forum developed and Susning became the largest Swedish-language and second-largest wiki in the world even before the Swedish-language Wikipedia at the time. In April 2004 there were over 60,000 articles. Due to its great popularity, the website has also been a frequent target of digital vandalism . The various attempts to curb the associated problems were hardly successful and in some cases also affected active and constructive writers. From April 2004 susning.nu could no longer be edited publicly.
Susning was shut down completely in August 2009.
