The Sutton Verlag GmbH is an established in 1997 and specialized in popular scientific literature regional book publisher with headquarters in Erfurt in Thuringia ( Germany ). Since January 1st, 2014 the publishing house belongs to the Munich publishing house GeraNova Bruckmann .

history

Sutton Verlag was founded in 1997 by English publisher Alan Sutton as part of the English publishing group The History Press .

In 2012 and 2014, the publisher organized the competition for the Thuringian Crime Prize in cooperation with the German Stock Exchange Association and the Thuringian Literature Council . The third competition planned for 2017 was canceled due to a lack of participation.

Publishing program and authors

Around 150 new titles for Germany and Austria appear annually in 18 series. Publication of gravity are illustrated books on the topics of local and regional history , transport and technological history . From 2010 to 2016 historical novels and regional crime novels were also published.
