The Svētupe (German also: Swähtuppe ) is a river in Latvia .

The Svētupe forms the outflow from Lake Lielezers near Limbaži (German: Lemsal). It flows north through Lake Dūņezers and continues parallel to the banks of the Riga Bay until it turns west at the confluence of the Pērļupe , at Svetciems (German: Neu Salis) crosses the main Autoceļš A1 and shortly afterwards at Kegumi into the Rigaer Bay of the Baltic Sea flows out.

The length of the Svetupe is around 58 km, the catchment area 475.2 km².

Tributaries

Right tributaries are Lūdiņupe and Pērļupe , from the left the Arupīte flows into it. At the lower reaches, the Jaunupe Canal connects to the Salaca .
