Svadilfari (Icelandic: Svaðilfari) is a stallion from Norse mythology and means "unhappy traveler".

The stallion belongs to a disguised and unknown Hrimthursen . With Svadilfari's help, he almost succeeded in building the wall around Asgard, the castle of the gods, in the agreed time. For this wall he would have received Freyja as his wife. However, Svadilfari was seduced by Loki - in the body of a mare - and he sired Sleipnir , Odin's eight-legged horse, with him .
