Sven Kacirek (* 1975 in Hamburg ) is a German drummer, producer, author and lecturer.

Kacirek studied with Jost Nickel at the Yamaha Music Station ( Hamburg ), with Kim Plainfield at the Drummers Collective ( New York City ), with René Créemers and Joop van Erven ( Arnheim ) and with Udo Dahmen at the Hamburg University of Music.

Musical activity

Sven Kacirek played at the World Drum Festival in 1999 and 2000 and in the following years devoted himself to the acoustic implementation of programmed drum beats of various styles such as drum and bass , house, electro or trip-hop. He published the books Drum'n bass-Creative Concepts For Drummers (Alfred Publ. 2000) and Secret Drum Grooves (Alfred Publ. 2004). With the Hamburg project field he released the albums Cocoon and Trespass , as well as the EP Stretch Your Hands Out . In 2007 his first solo album The Palmin Sessions was released by Pingipung / Kompakt, A-Musik. Furthermore, Sven Kacirek has worked in various projects for the choreographers Angela Guerreiro and Silke Z in recent years. In addition to these active musicals, Kacirek also holds a teaching position at the Hamburg School of Music .
