Sven Lidman

Carl Hindrik Sven Rudolphsson Lidman (born June 30, 1882 in Karlskrona , † February 14, 1960 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish writer .

Life

He wrote religious edification books, historical novels, symbolic poetry and memoirs.

His works include the “Silfverstaahl” novels.

The young decadent officer, poet and novelist experienced a religious conversion in 1917 and was won over in 1921 for the Pentecostal movement , which was growing rapidly in Sweden . He soon assumed a central position there as predicant and editor of the journal Evangelii Härold after the founder Lewi Pethrus . This is described in Per Olov Enquist's novel Lewis Reise .

His sons are Sven Lidman (1921–2011), editor of several encyclopedias, and Sam Lidman (1923–2012), writer.
