The Svenska Fjällklubben (SFK, German  Swedish Mountain Club ) is a non-profit association in Sweden .

history

The mountain club was founded on March 11, 1927. From the beginning, the club consisted of a handful of mountain enthusiasts in a closed circle. Since 2010 Svenska Fjällklubben has been an open nationwide organization with around 1,600 members.

The aim of the Fjällklubben is to deepen knowledge of the mountain world and to promote a nature-friendly outdoor life in the mountains.

The members are hikers , climbers and skiers who have a common interest and a strong commitment to the mountain world.

Members magazine

The member magazine Fjället deutsch  Der Berg appears four times a year. The Fjällklubbens yearbook Till Fjälls has been published continuously since 1929. Fjällklubbens clubhouse is south of Riksgränsen and Katterjåkk by Lake Katterjaure, and Fjällklubbens clubbrum is located in Bromma on the Svenskt Friluftsliv premises in Stockholm. The chairman of the association in 1946–51 was Dag Hammarskjöld (1905–61). The current chairman is Peter Jakobsson.
