Swiss Open

The Swiss Open are a designation for open international and national tournaments held in Switzerland and freely translated means open Swiss championships .

“Open” means that every athlete, regardless of whether they are professional or amateur, can take part in the event if they have qualified for it. For example, until 1968 only amateurs were allowed to take part in the most important tennis tournaments; Professionals were excluded. The names like US Open were only introduced at this time.

Swiss Open are organized in a wide variety of sports. The best known are the Swiss Open in tennis .
