The 1st Swiss Winter University Games were held from March 4th to 6th, 2016 in Saas-Fee . It was the first Swiss Winter University Games . There were competitions in alpine skiing between the individual universities and colleges.

The individual disciplines of the individual evaluations were added up for each person and the men and women winners were determined.

In the team evaluation, the points of the team competitions plus the points of the team members in the individual competitions were added. The four best teams competed against each other in the SWUG final; the ranking at the finish corresponded to the final ranking.

SHM race

On March 10th, the Swiss University Championship Race (SHM) took place as a giant slalom .
