Sybil Fenton Newall , called Queenie (* 17th October 1854 in Calder Brook , Lancashire ; † 24. June 1929 in Cheltenham , Gloucestershire ), was an English archer .

Queenie Newall joined the Cheltenham Archers in 1905 . In just two years, she caught up with the British top in archery. In 1907 she lost only one competition. In the 1908 Olympic Games in London , she won the gold medal in single Archer Women's Track, the National Round . She had a lead of 46 points over runner-up Charlotte Dod . At the time of her victory, she was 53 years and 9 months old. This makes her the oldest modern Olympic champion to this day.

After the Games, she lost a competition to Alice Legh , who won 23 British championship titles between 1881 and 1922 but did not take part in the 1908 Olympic Games. Queenie Newall remained committed to archery. Their last competition for the Cheltenham Archers was in September 1928.
