Sybille Martin

Sybille Martin (* 1958 ) is a literary translator from Spanish into German.

Life

Sybille Martin studied Spanish and German at the University of Hamburg , graduating with a Magistra Artium (1992). She has been a freelance translator for literature from Spain and Latin America since 1993. Further focus areas are non-fiction, theater, essays, subtitles and editing. From 1998 to 2004 she lived temporarily in Madrid . In 1993 and 2010 she was awarded the Hamburg Prize for Literary Translations .

Martin is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ. She lives in Hamburg.
