Sylvia Albrecht-Heckendorf , née Sylvia Albrecht (born October 28, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former German speed skater .

Career

Sylvia Albrecht-Heckendorf began her sporting career as a speed skater in the 1970s and was considered a youthful talent during this time. At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , she reached 3rd place over 1000 m and thus won a bronze medal. Over the distance of 1500 m she came in 9th and over the distance of 3000 m in 14th place.

Sylvia Albrecht-Heckendorf married shortly after the Olympic Games and then withdrew from competitive sports. After her relatively short athletic career, she started working as a kindergarten teacher.
