Sylvia Gabelmann (born September 7, 1958 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and a member of the German Bundestag .

biography

Sylvia Gabelmann finished school in 1977 with the Abitur. She initially trained as a pharmacy assistant and then studied pharmacy at the University of Frankfurt am Main with a license to practice medicine in 1986. She worked in her profession until 2002.

Politics and party

Gabelmann joined the party Die Linke in March 2008 and was deputy state spokeswoman in North Rhine-Westphalia from 2009 to 2012 and again from 2016 . From 2011 she worked for the party, first in the parliamentary committee of inquiry "Jülich" for the parliamentary group Die Linke in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , then for the MP Alexander Neu .

From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly , and in 2014 also of the Federal Assembly . In the 2017 federal election , she received a mandate from the state list .

2018 fork man belonged to the national speakers' council of the constitution authorities as extreme left assessed Anticapitaliste left on within the left party. She has been a member of the VVN-BdA since November 23, 2019 .

In the 19th German Bundestag , Gabelmann is a full member of the Committee on Health and the Subcommittee on Global Health. She is also represented as a deputy member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture .
