Sylvia von Stieglitz (born January 23, 1955 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf ) is a German politician (FDP). From November 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives.

Life

Von Stieglitz graduated from the Walther-Rathenau-Gymnasium in Berlin-Wilmersdorf in 1974 . Then from 1975 to 1982 she studied economics and social sciences at the universities of Tübingen, Augsburg and Stuttgart-Hohenheim, which she finished with a degree in economics. After completing her studies, she then worked as a research assistant at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim. From 1990 she worked in various areas of financial consulting and from 1997 she was managing director of the agency for location marketing. Since 2000 she has been the managing partner of Stieglitz Unternehmensentwicklung GmbH, of which she was also the founder. In 2008 she was a long-term expert in Cairo, Egypt, as part of an EU project on economic development.

Von Stieglitz joined the FDP in 2002. From 2004 to 2008 she was chairwoman of the local association Zehlendorf. Since 2004 she has also been active in several district and state committees. On November 16, 2009 she moved into the Berlin House of Representatives for the resigned MP Martin Lindner . There she is her party's spokesperson for media policy, among other things. In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 , the FDP no longer moved into parliament and Sylvia von Stieglitz's mandate ended.
