Synagogue in Ostrava

The synagogue in Ostrava (German: Mährisch Ostrau ), the administrative center of the Moravian-Silesian region in the Czech Republic , was built in the 1870s. The synagogue in Pittlergasse was inaugurated on September 15, 1879.

The local architect used the New Synagogue in Berlin in its oriental style as a model .

The synagogue was destroyed by the German occupiers during World War II.
