Synagogue in Zakopane

The brick synagogue ( Pol . Synagoga w Zakopanem also Synagoga Regielhaupta ) was in the center of 1937 Zakopane in the Kościeliska Street opposite the Old Cemetery of Honor and the Old St. Mary's Church of Regielhaupt in the style of modern construction.

The synagogue had a steel and glass dome that flooded the interior with daylight. There was also an older wooden synagogue in Zakopane on Szkolna Street . After the German invasion of Poland , both synagogues and the Jewish cemetery were destroyed by the occupiers. The Jewish cemetery was restored in 2004.
