Système d'identification du repertoire des établissements

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Système d'identification du répertoire des établissements , or briefly numéro SIRET or SIRET is an extension of the SIREN code used in France by five digits in order to systematically record another permanent establishment / branch of a company.

The SIRET number is assigned by the Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques (INSEE). The SIRET number consists of 14 digits. The first part with nine digits forms the SIREN code and the second part with five digits, called Numéro Interne de Classement (NIC), forms the extension with which the SIREN number becomes the SIRET number.

The last five digits are in turn subdivided into the first four digits, which are assigned to a specific permanent establishment / branch, and the last digit, which represents a check digit. The check digit is used to check the correctness of the code and the Luhn algorithm is used to calculate the check digit .

The SIRET code is assigned by INSEE on the basis of the registered permanent establishment / branch in sequence (in the example opposite, the seventh permanent establishment / branch of the company is shown with SIREN 732 829 320).

Exceptions

Instead of the SIREN code or SIRET, the earlier identification of companies is sometimes still found in practice. This consisted of the year of establishment (two digits), the letter of the responsible department at the French Commercial Register (RCS) and a three or four-digit sequential number. Example: 65 B 1234 means that the company in 19 65 was established and there is a trading company ( B ). The SIRET number is not always a 14-digit code. In certain areas, such as B. in Monaco the code can also contain letters. Example: MONACOCONFO001

Eori number

The SIRET becomes an EORI number by prefixing the country code "FR" . This becomes valid when you register with the national registration authority as an EORI number. In the example opposite, the EORI number of the company's seventh permanent establishment / branch is shown with SIREN 732 829 320.
