The Szafer Icefall ( Polish : Lodospad Szafera ) is a glacier break on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located on the Szafer Ridge above the Dobrowolski Glacier .
Polish scientists named it in 1980 based on the name of the mountain ridge of the same name . This is named after Władysław Szafer (1886-1970), a Polish botanist , palaeobotanist and conservationist.
