The Dobrowolski Glacier ( Polish : Lodowiec Dobrowolskiego ) is a large glacier on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flows in a south-westerly direction between the Precious Peaks and the Szafer Ridge to the head end of Martel Inlet , a side bay of Admiralty Bay .
Polish scientists named him in 1980 after the Polish geophysicist and meteorologist Antoni Bolesław Dobrowolski (1872–1954), participant in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery and later head of the Polish meteorological institute, today Instytut Meteorologii i Gospodarki Vodnej .
