The Martel Inlet ( French Fiord Martel ) is a side bay at the northeast head end of Admiralty Bay in the south of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
The bay was mapped in 1909 during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named her after JL Martel, a French politician. Since 1929 it has been recorded on maps under its English name.
