Tático Integrado de Grupos de Repressão Especial or TIGRE for short is a special unit of the Polícia Civil do Paraná . The unit was founded after some police officers from Parana had attended a course in Rio de Janeiro conducted by the Spanish special unit GEO . The unit was then officially founded on October 10, 1990 by decree. The main task of the unit is to rescue hostages . The unit is organized into a negotiation team, an awareness and support team and a rescue team.
