A tacks or Taek or tack ( as it is also called in the Austrian sec ) is a small nail-like pin for walking of leather as mainly from Shoemaker and orthopedic technician is used.

The bag should hold the leather on the model. In contrast to a nail or a mandrel , where the pen usually has a cylindrical shape with a head at one end and a short pyramidal tip at the other end, the tack of the tack has a long pyramidal shape that gradually extends into its tip at one end expires. At the other end, the bag has a head like the nail, which also has the same task. This shape makes it easier for the metal pin to penetrate the leather and at the same time into the model, which is mostly made of wood or plaster , when hammered in . After the leather has been milled, the bags are removed, mostly using milling pliers to pull them out .

There is also a conical square nail that is very similar to the Täcks. However, it has a short pyramidal tip, in which it differs from the Täcks.
