The Tönissteiner Kreis e. V. sees itself as “a non-partisan network of decision-makers who come from science, public administration, business, associations and politics, geared towards political dialogue and the promotion of young talent for international tasks”.

target

Its aim is "in the interest of the common good to promote particularly qualified young German employees in their preparation for international tasks and to use the circle's network to promote more internationality in education, training and human resource management".

history

The Tönissteiner Kreis was founded in 1958 by the leading associations of German business and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft as well as the federal government in order to “collect and network young managers for the German contingent in international organizations”. This was done to promote Germany's return to the international community.

The supporting organizations are still today: Federal Association of German Industry , Federal Association of German Employers 'Associations , German Academic Exchange Service , German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Donors' Association for German Science .

Around the year 2000, the Tönissteiner Kreis changed into a non-profit, registered association as part of a reorientation in order to become independent and more capable of acting. Its statutes have not yet been published on the Internet.

Today the circle has around 800 members who volunteer at various levels in the circle in order to “promote young German managers and demand more internationality in Germany”. The circle levies a membership fee in favor of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft .
