Tümosan (Türk Motor Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.) is a Turkish company that produces diesel engines , tractors and forklifts . Established in 1975, the company is headquartered in Istanbul and has its main production facility in Konya . The Tümosan diesel engines are used for tractors, boats and forklifts and are used in industry. According to the company, the annual production capacity is 75,000 diesel engine and 45,000 tractor units.
history
The company was founded in 1975 under the name Türk Motor Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. founded in Istanbul. In a contract with Fiat dated April 7, 1977, Tümosan acquired the licenses for diesel engines and tractors, which were subsequently offered under the brand name Tümosan.
In 2015, the ORF reported critically about a contract between the Graz-based company AVL List and Tümosan to build engines for the Turkish Altay battle tank for export to Saudi Arabia .

Tymosan is a Turkish stock corporation and 78.18% owned by the Turkish textile manufacturer Ereğli Tekstil Turizm San. Ve Tic. A.Ş. The remainder of the shares are held by various members of the Albayrak family. In 2016, Ereğli Tekstil reduced its stake to 65.47% through sales.
